Position Overview
PCM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Civil) to support the delivery of major utility scale energy infrastructure projects, commencing with the Supernode Stage 3 BESS Balance of Plant works and other future projects across our growing portfolio.
This is a highly influential site-based role where you will lead the interface between engineering design and construction delivery, ensuring works are practical, constructible, compliant and aligned with project objectives. You will play a key role in driving subcontractor performance, resolving site challenges and ensuring engineering outcomes support safe and efficient project execution
About the role
As Senior Project Engineer (Civil), you will be responsible for coordinating site-based engineering delivery and ensuring successful construction outcomes.
You will:
Lead constructability reviews and ensure designs are practical, efficient and aligned with construction methodology.
- Act as the key interface between engineering design teams and site execution teams.
- Coordinate subcontractor engineering activities and provide technical direction across multiple work fronts.
- Drive the timely resolution of RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications.
- Support construction managers and supervisors with real-time technical solutions and engineering advice.
- Monitor contractor performance and proactively address engineering and delivery constraints.
- Manage engineering-related risks, interfaces, changes and non-conformances.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, codes and contractual requirements.
- Support project planning, workface planning and program integration activities.
- Contribute to commercial assessments including variations, subcontractor claims and engineering related impacts.
- Lead and mentor project engineers, site engineers and graduate engineers as required.
- Build strong relationships with clients, OEMs, suppliers, design consultants and project stakeholders.
About you
You are an experienced engineering professional who thrives in complex construction environments and enjoys solving real world delivery challenges.
You will ideally have:
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience delivering major civil, energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong site-based construction and engineering coordination experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage design-to-construction interfaces.
- Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of constructability, sequencing and workface planning.
- Experience managing RFIs, NCRs, engineering changes and technical risk.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery and contract requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach combined with strong leadership capability
