Job Description

SVP, Product Management, Core Banking

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SVP, Product Management, Core Banking based in United States.

This is a senior product leadership role responsible for the strategy, execution, and commercial outcomes of a foundational Core Banking domain. You’ll lead multiple squads responsible for deposits, lending, settlement, processing, account structures, posting models, and ledger infrastructure. The role combines strategic product leadership, people management, deep core banking expertise, and hands-on AI-first execution. You’ll work closely with Builders, Architects, Shippers, and cross-functional leaders to deliver reliable, configurable, multi-tenant banking capabilities. Your decisions will directly influence how financial institutions manage transactions, balances, reconciliations, and critical banking operations. This is an opportunity to shape modern banking infrastructure while maintaining the precision, resilience, and correctness required for systems of record involving money.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and execute the Core Banking product roadmap, defining the vision for a modern, configurable, multi-tenant core banking engine and prioritizing squad initiatives against business outcomes, client needs, and broader platform strategy.
  • Lead and develop Builders across the Core Banking domain, including hiring, performance management, coaching, priority setting, and career development, while establishing high standards for precision, ownership, delivery quality, and AI-first execution.
  • Serve as the authoritative core banking subject matter expert, guiding teams on account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, double-entry accounting, posting models, deposits, lending, settlement, reconciliation, and operational controls.
  • Guide product and technical decisions around deposit configuration, loan servicing, payment application, accruals, fees, exceptions, end-of-day processing, settlement windows, cutover logic, and downstream financial data propagation.
  • Model and promote AI-first product development practices by using AI tools for specification, iteration, problem-solving, and execution while ensuring that AI-augmented workflows maintain the exceptional precision required for core banking systems.
  • Coordinate across Digital Banking, Payments, Origination, Architecture, UX, QA, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams, owning integration contracts and ensuring consistent approaches to the ledger, accounts, posting engine, performance, and scalability.
  • Represent the Core Banking domain in executive planning, client conversations, and senior leadership discussions, while maintaining accountability for squad output, platform reliability, quality, velocity, and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure the platform addresses regulatory, auditability, data integrity, reconciliation, and operational requirements, including considerations related to Reg D, Reg CC, Reg DD, Reg Z, TILA, RESPA, and BSA/AML.
  • Drive continuous improvement across product strategy, team performance, technical specifications, and delivery practices, balancing configurability and institution-specific requirements with correctness, performance, and platform integrity.
Requirements:
  • You have significant technical product management leadership experience, along with professional experience in banking processes, banking products, financial services infrastructure, fintech, or related product organizations.
  • You bring 8+ years of experience in product, engineering, or technical leadership roles involving core banking or financial services infrastructure, with deep hands-on knowledge of deposits, lending, settlement, or comparable core systems.
  • You have expert-level understanding of ledger structures, posting models, double-entry accounting, transaction processing, reconciliation, and the operational requirements of financial systems.
  • You have experience with loan servicing lifecycles, including payment application, accruals, payoff calculations, and exception handling, as well as batch processing, settlement, end-of-day operations, and multi-tenant core banking platforms.
  • You have experience navigating the trade-offs between configurability, correctness, performance, data consistency, and operational resilience in mission-critical systems, together with knowledge of relevant banking regulatory frameworks.
  • You have managed and developed product builders, engineers, or technical product managers and have a track record of building high-performing teams that deliver reliable software in high-stakes, correctness-critical environments.
  • You can operate strategically and tactically, moving comfortably between roadmap decisions, executive discussions, customer conversations, and detailed reviews of product specifications and core banking logic.
  • You have strong technical fluency in database design, transaction processing, distributed systems, ledger architecture, ACID compliance, data consistency, CI/CD, deployment practices, and performance engineering for high-volume transaction systems.
  • You demonstrate an AI-first mindset with hands-on experience using AI-assisted product design or development workflows, including AI tools for specification, iteration, and problem-solving, and you are comfortable modeling these practices for an entire domain.
  • You are an effective communicator and collaborative leader who can make priority trade-offs with incomplete information, influence technical and business stakeholders, and maintain direct accountability for both platform capability and commercial outcomes.
Benefits:
  • Annual cash bonus and equity options commensurate with the role level and experience.
  • Base salary range of $165,000–$180,000 USD.
  • 100% remote work within the United States, subject to location availability.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • Opportunity to lead one of the most foundational domains in modern fintech and influence technology trusted by financial institutions.
  • Exposure to AI-first product development and the opportunity to shape how AI is applied to complex, correctness-critical banking infrastructure.
  • Significant strategic visibility, with responsibility spanning product strategy, people leadership, technical direction, client needs, and commercial outcomes.
  • An inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring and employment process.
