Description:
The automotive work study supports Automotive Technology operations by assisting with lab setup, tool and equipment maintenance, inventory tracking, clerical tasks, repair database entry, campus errands, recruiting events, and organization of instructional materials and supplies.
Assist with lab setup, perform periodic maintenance and equipment repair, tool inventory, filing forms, worksheets, make copies, enter information into spreadsheets, enter vehicle information into repair database, run errands on campus, assist with recruiting efforts, e.g., Skills USA, Career Fair Day, College 101,etc., assist instructor in keeping track of special tools, hand out and bill out small inventoried parts, and organize tool cabinets.
The preceding duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.
-This position requires some knowledge of hand tools and a mechanical aptitude.
-The ability to operate computer systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel is also required; you will be instructed on how to use Mitchell One.
-There will be light to moderate level of manual labor at times.
-The student will also be involved in developing and maintaining inventories, tasks lists and other spreadsheets, therefore, computer software skills are required.
This position is a part of the Federal work-study program, to qualify you must be a State Fair Community College student enrolled in the current semester and eligible for Financial Aid thorough the Federal Work-study program.
The job is in a fast-paced environment that requires good communication, customer service and problem solving skills. Candidate will possess a working knowledge of computers, excellent oral and written communications skills, demonstrate student centeredness and be able to interact with a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds in a positive manner. Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.
Employment will require a criminal background check at college expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.
