Store Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina at Kiefer Aquatics

Position Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Store Manager to lead our Charlotte retail location while also managing local swim events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, enjoys building relationships, and can balance store operations with event-based sales.

You’ll be responsible for driving store performance, leading a team, managing inventory, and supporting swim teams through fittings, meets, and custom orders.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Store Management

• Oversee daily store operations, sales performance, and customer experience
• Hire, train, and lead retail staff to meet sales and service goals
• Create and manage employee schedules
• Maintain merchandising standards and store organization
• Manage inventory, stock levels, and product flow
• Build relationships with local swim teams (club, high school, summer league)
• Coordinate and execute team fittings, meets, and events
• Provide on-site sales support at swim meets
• Manage custom orders (team suits, caps, apparel, and webstores)
• Partner with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery

Operations

• Utilize retail and communication systems (Salespad, Lightspeed, MS Teams)
• Resolve customer issues and order discrepancies
• Stay current on product knowledge and industry trends

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail management or store leadership experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with inventory management and sales tracking
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Customer-focused mindset with a strong attention to detail

Preferred:

• Experience in aquatics, swimming, or team sports sales
• Familiarity with event-based or seasonal sales environments

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time role based on retail store hours
• Evening and weekend availability required (especially during peak swim seasons)
• Active role requiring standing, lifting (30+ lbs), and event setup
