This role sits at the intersection of merchandising, planning, and enterprise systems, ensuring that business requirements are effectively translated into scalable and reliable technology solutions. You will partner closely with merchandising and planning leaders to define system needs, evaluate solution options, and support end-to-end delivery of critical retail applications. The position plays a key role in improving how merchandising and planning data is structured, integrated, and reported across the organization. You will act as both a functional expert and a systems partner, helping ensure tools support business growth, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will engage with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver impactful system enhancements. This is a high-ownership role where your expertise directly shapes merchandising system performance and user experience.
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions with merchandising and planning stakeholders to define business and system needs, document functional specifications, and evaluate solution options.
- Translate business requirements into clear documentation, including business cases, system designs, functional specifications, and process workflows.
- Support the design, configuration, development, and administration of merchandising and planning applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in system testing and user acceptance testing, including issue identification, troubleshooting, and resolution in collaboration with technical teams and vendors.
- Develop reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytics tools to support merchandising and planning decision-making.
- Provide ongoing system support, documentation, training materials, and user enablement to ensure effective adoption and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Technical Analyst supporting merchandising, planning, PLM, allocation, or retail systems.
- Strong experience with enterprise retail platforms, ideally including Oracle Retail Suite (merchandising, pricing, invoicing, or related modules).
- Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments.
- Hands-on experience gathering requirements, writing functional specifications, and supporting system implementation or enhancement projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate system architecture and recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and mentor junior team members when needed.
