Are you an individual who desires a long-term career and has an interest to learn from all roles and functions around a manufacturing facility? We are looking for a Plastics Process Technician Apprentice to support our management staff in Production, Shipping, Quality, Maintenance and Operations. As an Apprentice, you would get to learn Vandor's plastics business from the ground up by rotating through several manufacturing areas that put you on a fast track for future advancement and success. This is a strong opportunity for someone with manufacturing interest who enjoys a fast-paced environment where accuracy and innovative problem-solving matters.

What You Will Do

This Apprentice will rotate through several manufacturing areas to learn about all roles and functions that support the facility including but not limited to: equipment, tool and mold maintenance and repair, processing, quality control, inventory management, tow motor operating, programming, research and development, and back office support. The apprentice will be mentored, coached, and work with other managers and support staff.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, dependable, and enthusiastic in supporting multiple functions in a manufacturing environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; any level of College Degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment & lift up to 100lbs.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills (additional training to be given)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills (additional training to be given)
  • Enthusiasm and punctuality
  • Mechanical aptitude and desire necessary to be a good student of Vandor processes, equipment, and procedures
  • Commitment to residing reasonably close to Wayne County, Indiana.

You will play an important role in supporting all functions of operations within a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with several key department and has a direct impact on production efficiency and quality.

This is a full-time position where the individual must have the ability to work alone and participate in a team environment, work any of three shifts and as short-term customer needs require, work up to six days a week.
