Position Summary
The Briarwood Community is seeking an energetic, organized, and compassionate Life Enrichment Assistant to support the Director of Life Enrichment in creating a vibrant and engaging community for residents. This position combines administrative support, event coordination, resident engagement, and creative project assistance.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, is comfortable with technology, possesses strong organizational skills, and is willing to assist wherever needed to help create meaningful experiences for residents.

Position Type: Part Time

Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Flexible) (Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required to support resident programs and special events)

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Enter resident charges and maintain accurate records within community software systems
  • Assist with billing, coding, invoices, and departmental paperwork
  • Maintain attendance records and participation tracking
  • Organize files, forms, calendars, and program materials
  • Assist with scheduling entertainers, presenters, and special guests
  • Make phone calls to residents, families, vendors, entertainers, and community partners as needed
  • Utilize dial-call and communication systems to notify residents of upcoming programs and events


Program & Event Support

  • Assist with the preparation, setup, and breakdown of programs, special events, and community functions
  • Help prepare activity supplies, decorations, signage, and materials
  • Assist with resident sign-ups and reservations
  • Provide support during programs and events as needed
  • Help ensure program spaces are welcoming, organized, and ready for resident participation


Resident Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with residents throughout the community
  • Welcome residents to programs and encourage participation
  • Provide one-on-one interaction and support when appropriate
  • Gather resident feedback and assist in identifying interests and preferences for future programming
  • Promote a warm, friendly, and inclusive environment


Marketing & Communications

  • Assist with the creation of simple flyers, event materials, posters, and promotional pieces
  • Help distribute communication materials throughout the community
  • Assist with maintaining bulletin boards and program displays


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience working with older adults preferred but not required
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and basic technology systems
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Students, recent graduates, retirees, and individuals seeking experience in recreation, human services, healthcare, hospitality, communications, or related fields are encouraged to apply


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry program supplies
  • Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown
  • Ability to move tables, chairs, and equipment with reasonable accommodation if needed
