Director, Controller & FP&A

Industry: Beauty Manufacturing

Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, Controller & FP&A to lead the accounting, financial reporting, and financial planning functions across four manufacturing facilities. This role will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a robust FP&A background and experience supporting manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening controls, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and delivering actionable analysis to support decision-making across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting
  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
  • Manage external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee cash management, working capital, and balance sheet integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for four manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop financial models, profitability analyses, and KPI reporting to support strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with operations leadership to evaluate manufacturing performance, labor efficiency, inventory management, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze variances against budget and forecast, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Support long-range planning, capital expenditure analysis, and business growth initiatives.
Manufacturing Finance
  • Oversee standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost accounting functions.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, gross margin performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Partner with plant leadership to improve productivity, efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation and controls across all facilities.
Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Executive Leadership.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to improve financial visibility and reporting capabilities.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar senior finance leader within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead both Accounting and FP&A functions.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering capabilities.
