Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, Controller & FP&A to lead the accounting, financial reporting, and financial planning functions across four manufacturing facilities. This role will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a robust FP&A background and experience supporting manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening controls, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and delivering actionable analysis to support decision-making across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting

Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
Manage external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Oversee cash management, working capital, and balance sheet integrity.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for four manufacturing facilities.
Develop financial models, profitability analyses, and KPI reporting to support strategic initiatives.
Partner with operations leadership to evaluate manufacturing performance, labor efficiency, inventory management, and cost optimization opportunities.
Analyze variances against budget and forecast, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
Support long-range planning, capital expenditure analysis, and business growth initiatives.

Manufacturing Finance

Oversee standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost accounting functions.
Monitor manufacturing costs, gross margin performance, and operational KPIs.
Partner with plant leadership to improve productivity, efficiency, and financial performance.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and controls across all facilities.

Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Executive Leadership.
Drive process improvements and system enhancements to improve financial visibility and reporting capabilities.
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Prior experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar senior finance leader within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities preferred.
Proven ability to lead both Accounting and FP&A functions.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering capabilities.
