Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Distribution

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Washington Distribution Center

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

General Overview: Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of Rawlings – Washington production operations, facilities and equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and repair as necessary.
  • Work with vendors to ensure timely repairs and maintenance are complete.
  • Comply with all Rawlings safety regulations and protocols.
  • Performs assigned preventative maintenance of electrical, plumbing and safety equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:

  • 3 + years in maintenance or a related field in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and practices, including electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints or schematics of machines or facilities.
  • Experience in the operation of fork truck and aerial lift equipment.
  • Ability to adapt and change as business needs change daily.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • General distribution center working conditions.
  • Climate controlled environment.
  • Regular hours of 5:30 am – 2:00 pm Monday – Friday. Subject to change at times. Some overtime required.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend and lift for full shift.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms requiring dexterity and handling or working with packages or equipment.
  • Occasionally required to use a step ladder.
  • Occasionally required to climb stairs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
  • Employee will be required to hear warning horns, bells, alarms, and oral instructions for safety purposes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, shipping orders, packing specifications, labels, reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
