California Certified Journeyman Electrician in Oakland, California at A & G CONSTRUCTION INC

A & G Construction specializes in renovating units in assisted living communities throughout California. We are looking for an experienced Journeyman - Electrician to join our amazing team in Oakland. This is not strictly an electrician position, as we want this team member to be open to performing other trades on site (i.e., painting, texture, demo, carpentry work finishes) as needed.

Basic Function:

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Electrician is responsible for bending and running conduits, pulling wires and installing light fixtures. Must be able to wire panels, terminate and troubleshoot. The electrician is also responsible for maintaining and providing for the safe condition and operation of all electrical systems.

Essential Duties:

• Bend and run conduits
• Pull wires
• Install light fixtures
• Wire panels, terminate and troubleshoot
• Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates
• Maintain accurate records on material used
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and materials
• Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
• Work with Project Manager to complete projects
• Open to perform other trades (i.e., paint, texture, metal framing, demo, carpentry work finishes as needed.

• 5+ years of experience in the electrical trade
• Proficiency with wire pulling, bending and running EMT conduit
• Ability to terminate and troubleshoot
• Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE
• Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights and lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Must have steel toe work boots
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician in the State of California
• Knowledge of permitting and inspection processes with city officials
