Job Description

Savaria: Savaria Concord Lifts designs, manufactures and distributes top-of-the-line accessibility products, including residential and commercial elevators, stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, incline and vertical platform lifts, automatic Doors and Operators and a selection of ADA compliant products. Our equipment is certified to meet or exceed all applicable elevator and lift codes in North America. Savaria Concord Lifts Inc. is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team. This position will report to the Production Manager and is responsible for overseeing all production operations within the sheet metal department. The Production Supervisor will supervise and ensure that production goals are being met and that quality standards are being maintained.

This is a 100% on-site job in Brampton.

Essential Duties and Requirements:

  • Responsible for the Supervision and production output of the Sheet Metal Department
  • Must be familiar with a variety of machinery and/or equipment including Brake Presses, Laser cutting machines etc.
  • Responsible to order raw materials with sufficient lead time to meet production demands
  • Responsible to meet production adherence daily to ensure the assembly team meets daily targets.
  • Responsible to cross train production personnel as required
  • Communicates effectively with production personnel at all levels and encourages growth and improvement where required related to quality, on-time delivery, attendance and overall work ethic
  • Ensures all Health & Safety procedures are followed and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used where required
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate capacity to validate schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Maintain files according to policy and procedures.
  • May be required to operate a Reach Truck to assist in moving materials around in work centres to improve production efficiencies
  • Must have a continuous improvement mind set

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises a variety of production personnel. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from Technical college or University and at least 7-10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong aptitude with MS Office, ability to learn MK and close work-orders daily.
  • Metal fabrication: 5 years (required)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
