ABOUT THE ITEX GROUP

Founded in 2002, ITEX Group is a privately held real estate investment, construction, and property management firm. We construct, own, and operate apartment communities across Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Colorado, with a focus on providing safe, quality, and well-maintained homes for our residents. Our team is the foundation of our success, and we are committed to building a workplace where people grow, contribute, and are recognized for their hard work.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Acquisitions & Development Intern will work alongside members of the A&D team over a four-week assignment, gaining firsthand exposure to the inner workings of a real estate investment and development organization. This role is designed to provide a meaningful learning experience through hands-on administrative and clerical support, while offering visibility into how acquisitions, underwriting, and development projects are structured, tracked, and executed at ITEX.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Organize, file, and maintain department documents, reports, and project correspondence
  • Assist with data entry related to property research, deal tracking, and pipeline management
  • Support the preparation of presentations, executive summaries, and internal reports
  • Coordinate scheduling, meeting logistics, and incoming communications for team members
  • Conduct basic market research and compile findings as directed by department leadership
  • Maintain department records and ensure files are accurately labeled and up to date
  • Provide general administrative support across the Acquisitions & Development team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented student who is eager to learn and ready to contribute in a professional real estate environment. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, a willingness to take initiative, and a genuine interest in how real estate investment and development works from the inside.

Specifically, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Is curious about the real estate industry and eager to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in both written and verbal form
  • Takes ownership of tasks and follows through with minimal supervision
  • Works well within a team and adapts quickly to a fast-paced environment
  • Pays close attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate, organized work

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A four-week immersive experience within a seasoned real estate investment and development team
  • Exposure to active acquisitions, development projects, and property management operations
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced real estate professionals
  • Academic credit eligibility (based on institution requirements)
  • A collaborative, mission-driven workplace culture

The ITEX Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role is primarily office-based and requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Occasional filing or light lifting of documents and materials (up to 15 lbs.) may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
