We are seeking a highly skilled Tool Maker / CNC Turning (Lathe) Machinist to support advanced aerospace manufacturing in Connecticut—one of the most competitive and high-precision machining regions in the U.S.
This is a hands-on, high-accountability role working with tight-tolerance aerospace components where accuracy, craftsmanship, and problem-solving directly impact production success.
If you’re a strong lathe machinist, toolmaker, or CNC turning specialist who thrives in a precision-driven environment, this is where your skill set gets challenged—and valued.
What You’ll Do
As a Tool Maker specializing in Turning / Lathe, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes / turning centers to produce complex aerospace components
- Work from blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Perform tight-tolerance machining (often ±.001” or tighter)
- Conduct in-process and first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools
- Troubleshoot setups, tooling, and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency
- Support continuous improvement in machining methods, tooling, and cycle time reduction
- Maintain compliance with aerospace quality and production standards
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in CNC lathe / turning OR toolmaking environments
- Strong ability to set up jobs independently (not just operate machines)
- Deep understanding of blueprints, GD&T, and precision measuring tools
- Experience with aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing preferred
- Comfort working with materials such as stainless, titanium, Inconel, and alloys
- Strong problem-solving mindset on the shop floor (not just button pushing)
What You Get
- Competitive pay based on experience + shift premium (where applicable)
- Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
- Paid time off + holidays
- Stable, long-term aerospace manufacturing environment
- Opportunity to work on high-precision, flight-critical components
Why This Role Stands Out
- Aerospace industry stability in a high-demand Connecticut manufacturing market
- Work on complex, low-volume, high-precision components
- Exposure to multi-axis turning environments and advanced machining systems
- Career growth into lead machinist, setup specialist, or programming pathways
- Clean, structured, quality-focused manufacturing environment
Why Join Us
We don’t just run machines—we build precision systems that support aerospace performance standards. You’ll be part of a team where skill matters more than speed alone, and where experienced machinists are respected for what they can solve, not just what they can run.
