Job Description
This Maintenance Management role leads all maintenance management functions to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of the equipment and the facilities as well as managing the maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships. Partners with the Operational Excellence team to improve equipment reliability in obtaining performance optimization.
This role is also responsible for implementing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive equipment efficiencies, while developing and leading a high-performing maintenance team to support the EHS initiatives, quality, efficiencies and business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Functions as an EHS Champion for his team and the facility by partnering with the operations teams in driving the EHS initiatives in the facility.
- Develops, implements and execute the maintenance plan for the facility.
- Selects new talent, coaches, mentors and leads the performance management process for the maintenance team.
- Works with engineering to propose equipment and process modifications to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Develops a plan to complete daily maintenance activities and monitors results on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Partners with the manufacturing team to implement, monitor and improve the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the plant as QEE, downtime and raw materials and finished good waste/scrap.
- Develops routine inspections plan to monitor conditions to identify and equipment failure.
- Implements and integrates general and specific safety procedures and instructions within all maintenance activities.
- Develops and reviews critical spare parts inventory and adjust reordering levels accordingly.
- Ensures all critical maintenance tools & devices are kept and maintained in orderly fashion.
- Develops budgets, estimating labor and materials required to properly maintain and improve the preventative maintenance of the plant and operate within the budget.
- Partners with vendors to leverage the company position and purchasing competitive advantage.
- Identifies opportunities to reduce all maintenance-related expenses primarily from reducing unscheduled breakdowns and equipment failures.
- Develops and implements the SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures) related to maintenance procedures and activities
- Develops and implements a comprehensive training plan for maintenance team.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required or
- Certificate from a recognized trade school in Industrial Maintenance
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum seven to 10 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Experience in using and applying maintenance tools, including root cause failure analysis.
- Three years of prior experience in a leadership role
- Experience with CMMS system
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, customers and the general public. Production managers must be able to speak with employees, other department managers and senior management.
