The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a postdoctoral associate in computational developmental genomics, to begin August 17, 2026. Applicants must have a background in applying both computational and benchwork strategies toward the study of gene regulation during animal development, with a Ph.D. in biology or applicable field. The successful candidate will work with members of the laboratory of Dr. Miler Lee to perform experiments to discover novel regulatory sequences that influence gene expression, using computational genomics methods augmented with in vivo experimental validation in zebrafish embryos. Minimum requirements include proficiency in R statistical computing and Python coding; experience with constructing and executing pipelines for high-throughput sequencing data curation and analysis; molecular biology benchwork skills including PCR, cloning, and RNA extraction; and a record of effective oral and written science communication. Preferred qualifications include experience with zebrafish embryo microinjection, microscopy, and aquatic animal husbandry.
