Warehouse Specialist in Hampton Roads, Virginia at DELAWARE RESOURCE GROUP OF OKLAHOMA LLC

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Warehouse Specialist supports berthing and messing operations aboard a barge by managing the receipt, storage, organization, and distribution of supplies essential to daily habitability and food-service activities. This role ensures accurate inventory control and timely delivery of materials to maintain smooth and efficient barge operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure proper material management services.
• Verify materials (or merchandise against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
• Properly routing materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Must be able to rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage, removing material from storage, and preparing it for shipment.
• Responsible for the management of inventory, warehouse operations, transportation. Manages preservation, packaging, packing, and marking materials.
• Qualified to operate assigned support equipment in performing warehousing duties.
• Utilize government furnished material handling equipment such as standard forklifts, swing-reach forklifts, order picker forklifts, and pallet jacks.
• Perform and record perpetual inventory on stock in location after each warehousing action.
• Perform disposal of identified materials; does not include hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
• Other duties as identified and assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System or performing warehouse duties.
• Must be detail oriented and organized.
• Must be a good communicator and multitasker to successfully manage day-to-day operations at a busy warehouse.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Forklift certification

Supervisory Responsibilities

• As Required.

Security Responsibilities

• Eligible and obtain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
• Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
• May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Language Skills

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.
• Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
