Position Summary:

Tigua Facility Services (TFS), part of Tigua Inc., supports federal facilities, operations, maintenance, logistics, and mission-support requirements. Tigua Inc. is owned by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo (Ysleta Tribe). This anticipated position will support Air Force Civil Engineer Center operations, facilities, test ranges, laboratories, and research, development, test, and evaluation activities at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Serve as the senior electrical technical authority for installation, design, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and repair of industrial electrical distribution, controls, generators, research/test equipment, alarm, lighting, and associated systems. The position performs hands-on work and supports technical planning, drawings, code compliance, safety, and cross-trade execution.

This role supports a potential contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, controls, equipment, transformers, converters, regulators, cables, switches, circuit breakers, relays, bus bars, conduits, and conductors.
  • Diagnose and correct problems involving switchgear, transformer banks, substations, generators, power distribution, high-voltage generating and control systems, and associated protective devices.
  • Install and maintain distribution panels, switchgear, power and control circuits, fire alarm systems, intrusion alarms, emergency warning systems, UPS systems, lightning protection, lighting, cathodic protection, and R&D equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex relay logic, analog/digital controls, solid-state motor controls, computer-interface devices, electronic components, and equipment control boards.
  • Interpret, maintain, update, and produce electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, control diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct load tests, inspections, safety checks, preventive maintenance, and functional testing; document deficiencies, repairs, and completed work.
  • Apply NEC, National Electrical Safety Code, Air Force requirements, fire codes, local codes, lockout/tagout, energized-work, arc-flash, PPE, and high-voltage safety practices.
  • Select materials, tools, test instruments, methods, and equipment needed for installation or repair; use advanced electrical test and fault-finding equipment.
  • Coordinate AF Form 332 and other required approvals before controlled work begins.
  • Assist other trades with facilities maintenance and project work when electrical duties permit; participate in emergency and severe-weather response.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of directly related electrician experience and qualification as a Master Electrician.
  • Current Master Electrician credential or license issued by a recognized state or local authority and ability to satisfy any licensing requirements applicable to the final contract and assigned work.
  • Comprehensive industrial electrical experience involving distribution, controls, high voltage, generators, transformers, switchgear, protective devices, and complex troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to design or improve electrical systems or items and independently plan work from drawings, codes, and technical data.
  • Thorough knowledge of NEC, National Electrical Safety Code, fire/electrical safety requirements, lockout/tagout, PPE, and energized/high-voltage work practices.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shades of colors and satisfy the physical requirements of industrial electrical work.
  • Ability to satisfy the background investigation and installation-access requirements established by the final contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Florida Certified or Registered Electrical Contractor credential, Florida qualifying-agent experience, or eligibility and willingness to support Tigua’s Florida electrical business qualification if required.
  • Prior Air Force, DoD, range, airfield, coastal-facility, grounds, hurricane-recovery, or federal facilities experience.
  • OSHA, equipment-operator, pesticide/applicator, chainsaw, lift, or comparable safety qualifications, as applicable to assigned work.

Contract Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, and satisfy installation access requirements.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate Government-owned vehicles when authorized.
  • Ability to comply with applicable Air Force, DoD, federal, state, local, safety, environmental, information-security, and facility requirements.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday within the anticipated 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time operating window, with maximum staffing during core hours, currently 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Availability for occasional flexible schedules, approved travel/temporary duty, emergency response, severe-weather preparation or recovery, and mission-essential crisis support.
  • Ability to use Government and company work-order, database, reporting, document-control, and communication systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other trades, logistics, laboratory, safety, fabrication, Government, and subcontractor personnel.

Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials consistent with assigned work and approved lifting practices.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, wind, noise, dust, dirt, grease, uneven terrain, and active maintenance/test environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respond to short-notice site conditions safely.
