Accountabilities:

The Sr. Analyst, Health Plan Performance Operations will analyze healthcare and payer data to generate strategic insights, improve reporting capabilities, and support operational excellence. This role will serve as a key analytical partner, ensuring data quality, building scalable reporting solutions, and supporting teams in optimizing performance.

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, productivity trackers, and key performance indicators used by leadership teams to monitor market performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Build complex data queries and analytical solutions to support reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc business initiatives.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear visualizations and recommendations for stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Incorporate industry benchmarks and performance metrics into reporting frameworks to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve internal and external data quality issues through structured auditing and quality assurance processes.
  • Develop testing methodologies and algorithms to validate large data sets and ensure data accuracy throughout operational workflows.
  • Source, clean, and organize information from multiple healthcare data sources, including payer portals, claims files, internal databases, and data transfer systems.
  • Execute advanced SQL queries to support analysis, reporting accuracy, and data validation efforts.
  • Create efficient analytical tools using advanced spreadsheet capabilities, including complex formulas, templates, and automation techniques.
  • Maintain documentation for operational analytics processes, data structures, and team knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Support team leadership through mentoring, work coordination, training support, and review of analytical deliverables.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for healthcare performance data and represent the team in cross-functional discussions when needed.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare analytics experience, advanced data management skills, and the ability to translate complex information into practical business recommendations. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with distributed teams and stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, analytical, healthcare, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis, data management, quality assurance, auditing, or payer-related analytics.
  • Intermediate SQL programming experience, with experience using Snowflake preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including complex formulas, nested functions, and pivot tables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, investigate issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Experience working with large datasets and ensuring accuracy across multiple data sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of value-based care models, alternative payment arrangements, Medicare, and healthcare quality measures is preferred.
  • Experience with statistical tools such as R or Stata is a plus.
