Data Analyst - Asset Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Analyst - Asset Management based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decisions within a national asset management portfolio.
The Data Analyst will play a key role in improving data quality, developing reporting solutions, and enhancing visibility into portfolio performance.
The position combines analytical expertise, financial understanding, and technical skills to support impactful business outcomes.
Working across operations, finance, and asset management teams, the role provides exposure to high-value projects and executive-level reporting.
The successful candidate will contribute to process improvements through automation, dashboards, and advanced data analysis.

Accountabilities:

The Data Analyst will support asset management activities by analyzing portfolio data, improving reporting processes, and delivering insights that enable informed decision-making. The role requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

  • Analyze financial and operational data, including budget-to-actual performance, key performance indicators, cash flow projections, and portfolio trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to support portfolio management and strategic planning.
  • Consolidate, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple systems to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
  • Support annual operating and capital budgeting processes, reserve reimbursement requests, and capital funding activities.
  • Research and summarize market, leasing, demographic, financial, and property information to support portfolio decisions.
  • Assist with financial modeling, scenario analysis, due diligence activities, and documentation requests related to acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
  • Prepare portfolio analytics, financing profiles, maturity schedules, performance reports, and segmentation analyses.
  • Deliver recurring monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting for senior leadership, investors, lenders, regulatory organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Support compliance reporting, watchlist summaries, special projects, and other analytical initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, reporting capabilities, and organizational performance.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience in data analytics, financial analysis, or asset management, along with strong technical skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, accounting, economics, business administration, data analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • Approximately 3 years of relevant experience preferred, ideally within asset management, property management, affordable housing, real estate finance, or data analytics.
  • Experience with affordable housing programs such as HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, or PRAC is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with Power Query, pivot models, macros/VBA, SQL, or similar data tools preferred.
  • Ability to integrate, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple systems.
  • Experience with platforms such as MRI, RealPage, Yardi, or similar software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and real estate transaction analysis is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required, with flexibility in working hours when needed.
