Description:

Lead Maintenance Technician

AFX, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hands-on Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee facility operations, equipment maintenance, warehouse support activities, and general plant upkeep. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, leading by example, coordinating maintenance priorities, and ensuring safe, efficient operations throughout the facility.

Forklift Certification Required
Start Date: As soon as possible

Requirements

  • 3+ years of maintenance, facilities, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Prior experience coordinating maintenance activities preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, powered equipment, conveyors, and facility machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency in safely using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • English required; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure equipment and facility reliability.
  • Safely operate forklifts to support maintenance, material handling, and production needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment issues.
  • Support and maintain conveyors, pallet wrappers, material handling equipment, and other plant systems.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance requests to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Assist with pallet racking inspections, repairs, and facility safety initiatives.
  • Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general building maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain maintenance records, schedules, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support facility improvement projects, equipment installations, and trade show setup/teardown activities.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and management teams to support operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
