Clinical Social Worker – Geriatric Mental Health Clinic at JASA
As a Clinical Social Worker, you will deliver evidence-based mental health services to older adults in the Bronx under JASA’s Geriatric Mental Health Clinic, a New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH)-licensed Article 31 outpatient clinic. Operating in a high-performance culture, you will conduct assessments, manage treatment plans, and provide direct therapy in-person, remotely, or via satellite center outreach.

📝 What You’ll Be Doing
You will provide holistic, evidence-based mental health treatment while maintaining rigorous clinical documentation and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Therapy: Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group mental health interventions both in-person and via telehealth; conduct home visits when medically necessary.
Assessment & Planning: Administer standardized mental health screening tools; develop, implement, monitor, and document comprehensive treatment plans.
Case Management & Referrals: Provide relevant information, community referrals, and resources to clients and collaterals.
Regulatory Documentation: Complete case records, progress notes, and reports within mandated timeframes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
Collaborative Care: Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, clinical supervision, staff meetings, and quality improvement activities.
Satellite & Host Engagement (If Assigned): Utilize outreach strategies in Bronx older adult centers to engage participants and provide case consultations/psychoeducation to senior center staff.
Language Support (If Assigned): Conduct clinical interventions, intakes, and treatment plans in Spanish for monolingual clients.
Crisis Coverage: Participate on a rotating basis in carrying a company cell phone for evening, weekend, or holiday crisis coverage.
🎓 What You’ll Need
Licensure: Possession of or candidacy for NYS Licensure in Social Work or Clinical Psychology (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT, or similar).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in a mental health setting or with an older adult population.
Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred to serve monolingual clients.
Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency with familiarity in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a host or clinic setting.
