MSB Analytics is seeking a full-time Equipment Inventory Specialist to support the Naval Medical Research Command in Silver Spring, Maryland. The contract labor category for this position is Administrative Assistant II. The selected candidate will support Government property accountability, equipment inventory, disposition activities, and associated administrative records.

This is a fully on-site position. Telework is not a regular component of the role and may occur only when specifically authorized by the Government.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the Custodian Equipment Manager with personal-property management activities.
  • Maintain accurate Government-Furnished Property and Government-Furnished Equipment records.
  • Enter, update, standardize, and validate equipment information in applicable Government property-management systems.
  • Support daily Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support documentation and record maintenance.
  • Prepare, log, track, and monitor Defense Logistics Agency disposition actions and Electronic Turn-In Documents.
  • Coordinate outgoing equipment and property disposition activities.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for property passes, equipment loans, equipment losses, and other property transactions.
  • Assist with periodic and annual physical inventories and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate warehouse deliveries and the transfer or disposition of Government assets.
  • Collect, record, verify, and report equipment and property data from multiple sources.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Prepare status information and supporting data for monthly contract reports.
  • Communicate professionally with Government personnel, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Complete required Government and company training and remain current on applicable procedures and system requirements.
  • Perform other administrative and property-accountability duties within the scope of the contract.
Minimum qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in administrative services, equipment inventory, property accountability, logistics support, asset management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
  • Strong organizational, data-entry, and records-management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, auditable records.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated federal background investigation and Common Access Card.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at NMRC in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, or another federal agency.
  • Experience with Government property accountability, logistics, inventory control, or equipment lifecycle management.
  • Experience with DMLSS or a comparable Government logistics/property system.
  • Familiarity with DLA Disposition Services, ETIDs, Government-Furnished Property, and Government-Furnished Equipment.
  • Experience processing equipment loans, property passes, disposition documentation, or inventory reconciliations.
  • Previous experience working in a military, medical-research, laboratory, or controlled-access environment.
  • Current CAC or favorably adjudicated federal background investigation.
Schedule and location

This position is performed on-site at the Naval Medical Research Command, 503 Robert Grant Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland. The employee will generally work eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The work schedule must fall within the command’s operating hours of 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.

Compensation and benefits

Salary: $58,000–$63,000 annually, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
