Job Summary
Southend Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our facility. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, completing repairs, and supporting manufacturing operations through proactive maintenance activities. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded maintenance professional who can perform a variety of electrical, mechanical, cosmetic, and general facility maintenance tasks while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant environment.
Please note that this day shift schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; however, hours may be adjusted based on business needs, and flexibility in availability is expected to support teams and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot facility equipment to maximize uptime
- Complete electrical, mechanical, welding, painting, and general repair tasks
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose equipment issues
- Utilize diagnostic tools, including ohmmeters, to test electrical circuits and components
- Utilize CMMS software to manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and repair documentation
- Perform cosmetic repairs, painting, and facility improvement projects
- Assist with equipment installations, renovations, and facility upgrades
- Coordinate with contractors and assist with maintenance projects while ensuring safety compliance
- Support manufacturing operations by maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and provide excellent customer service to internal departments
What We Require
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing, commercial, or residential environments
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and general building maintenance
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters or ohmmeters
- Experience utilizing CMMS software for maintenance tracking and preventive maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with welding and fabrication
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation
- Leadership or supervisory experience on maintenance projects
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment and production environments
- HVAC and plumbing experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform a wide variety of facility maintenance tasks rather than specializing in one trade
