· Other Requirements: Ability to complete applicable background, health, immunization, and other pre-employment requirements. A valid driver's license may be required when duties include travel between work locations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of infection prevention principles, infectious diseases, epidemiology, surveillance methods, occupational health practices, and patient and workforce safety.

· Knowledge of applicable privacy, documentation, record-management, reporting, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

· Skill in data collection, validation, analysis, trend interpretation, report writing, presentations, and development of tracking systems.

· Skill in program and project coordination, education, consultation, conflict management, and change management.

· Ability to apply evidence-based guidance, recognize infection risks, investigate events, solve problems, and use independent judgment within approved policies and scope of practice.

· Ability to organize competing priorities, meet deadlines, remain effective under pressure, and respond appropriately to urgent public health or occupational health concerns.

· Ability to communicate and collaborate respectfully with people from varied professional, socioeconomic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

· Ability to use standard office software, electronic health or employee health systems, surveillance tools, and other applications required for the role.

· Ability to protect confidential information and comply with HIPAA, employment-related privacy requirements, and organizational policies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master of Science in Nursing or graduate education in nursing, infection prevention, epidemiology, public health, or a related field.

· Certification in Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).

· Experience coordinating employee health services or an organization-wide infection prevention program.

· Experience with healthcare accreditation surveys, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement methods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work Environment. Work is performed in office and clinical settings and may include limited remote work when approved. The role may involve exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, cleaning agents, and other occupational hazards. Required personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed. Occasional travel between work locations and schedule flexibility may be required.

Physical Demands. The employee must be able to sit and stand for extended periods; walk through clinical and support areas; use standard office and medical equipment; read printed and electronic information; communicate in person and by telephone; and lift or carry up to 25 pounds. Mental Demands. The position requires attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, interruptions, deadlines, and urgent infection-prevention or employee-health concerns.
