Job Description

Equipment Finance Operations Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Equipment Finance Operations Manager based in United States.

This is a hands-on operations leadership role responsible for managing the full documentation and closing lifecycle of Equipment Finance transactions.
You will oversee complex commercial loan and lease documentation, ensuring transactions are accurate, compliant, and ready for funding.
The role requires strong judgment when reviewing conditions, resolving documentation discrepancies, and identifying potential operational or fraud risks.
You will work closely with customers, dealers, sales, credit, collections, accounting, and external agencies to keep transactions moving efficiently.
A key part of the position is ensuring proper titling, lien perfection, and collateral documentation across the transaction lifecycle.
You will also lead and develop an operations team while identifying opportunities to improve workflows, controls, and overall efficiency.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment with demanding funding deadlines.

Accountabilities
  • Manage the end-to-end documentation and closing process for Equipment Finance transactions, including complex structures and documentation received from syndicated partners.
  • Review underwriting, pricing, equipment management, and other approval conditions to determine when transactions are ready for documentation and funding.
  • Interpret and develop commercial loan documents related to collateral and complex commercial financing arrangements.
  • Identify contradictions, documentation deficiencies, lien perfection concerns, and other issues that could affect funding or legal enforceability, escalating matters when appropriate.
  • Exercise sound judgment when identifying potential operational, compliance, or fraud risks during the funding process.
  • Resolve complex documentation issues and recommend improvements to operating practices, workflows, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Consult with customers and dealers regarding documentation requirements and use appropriate discretion when addressing inquiries or exceptions.
  • Prioritize fluctuating work queues and manage transaction volumes effectively while consistently meeting demanding funding deadlines.
  • Prepare, execute, research, and resolve equipment titling documentation and related issues within established timelines.
  • Coordinate with customers, sales, credit, collections, accounting, and DMV agencies to ensure titles are properly processed and documentation is complete.
  • Identify and address commercial loan documentation and lien position perfection issues before they create funding or collateral risks.
  • Control and prioritize work queues for new lease and loan transactions, maintaining strong visibility into transaction status and deadlines.
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop team members while encouraging challenging goals, high performance standards, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the lease, loan, mortgage, equipment finance, or a closely related financial services environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan or lease documentation, transaction closing processes, collateral requirements, and lien perfection.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex documentation, identify discrepancies, assess risk, and determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, particularly when handling exceptions, funding risks, documentation issues, and potential fraud concerns.
  • Highly detail-oriented and conscientious, with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, fluctuating workloads, and demanding deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain detailed requirements clearly to customers, dealers, colleagues, and management.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to establish effective working relationships across sales, credit, accounting, collections, operations, and management teams.
  • Results-oriented mindset, strong personal initiative, adaptability, and willingness to take ownership of complex problems.
  • Experience leading, training, coaching, or developing team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business productivity tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic financial calculations involving interest, discounts, percentages, ratios, commissions, profit and loss, and related commercial finance concepts.
Benefits
  • Opportunity to lead a critical Equipment Finance operations function with broad cross-functional impact.
  • Leadership responsibility with opportunities to train, coach, and develop an operations team.
  • Professional environment with exposure to commercial lending, equipment finance, documentation, risk management, and customer operations.
  • Opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Sedentary office-based work environment with no hazardous working conditions.
  • Role requiring primarily computer-based work, communication, document review, and coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
