Regional Business Director Northeast Region (GOMEKLI)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Business Director – Northeast Region (GOMEKLI) based in the United States.

This is a senior commercial leadership opportunity focused on driving growth across a defined regional territory within the rare disease healthcare market.
You will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Territory Business Managers while owning regional sales performance and profitability.
The role combines strategic planning, field execution, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration across a complex healthcare environment.
You will build strong relationships with physicians, healthcare organizations, patient advocacy groups, and other key stakeholders.
Success will require a strong understanding of rare disease and sarcoma markets, competitive dynamics, access considerations, and customer needs.
As a senior field leader, you will also contribute market intelligence and strategic insights that influence broader commercial priorities.
This role is ideal for an experienced pharmaceutical sales leader who is motivated by developing talent, driving results, and improving outcomes for patients with rare diseases.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Territory Business Managers, establishing clear expectations, providing regular feedback, recognizing performance, and supporting long-term career development.
  • Own regional sales performance and profitability, ensuring quarterly targets are achieved or exceeded through effective territory planning, resource allocation, and field execution.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term regional business plans, strategic account plans, and tailored field strategies aligned with broader commercial and brand objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product access and commercial performance by partnering closely with Market Access and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key physicians, healthcare practices, hospitals, clinics, patient advocacy organizations, and local opinion leaders.
  • Monitor regional sales trends, competitor activity, market dynamics, regulations, and healthcare developments to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Patient Access, Medical, Human Resources, Field Enablement, and other teams to coordinate priorities and maximize regional impact.
  • Communicate market and competitive intelligence to senior leadership and brand teams, providing actionable insights to support commercial strategy.
  • Manage the regional budget and expenditures, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and deliver strong return on investment.
  • Foster strong collaboration with alliance partners and internal stakeholders to maximize joint commercial opportunities and customer engagement.
  • Support product launches and ensure teams are equipped with the product knowledge, selling capabilities, and resources required for successful execution.
  • Promote a compliant and ethical sales culture, ensuring all team members understand and follow applicable company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years within rare disease or sarcoma and experience in sales management.
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven success in pharmaceutical commercial roles, including experience with product launches and exposure to corporate functions such as Marketing or Managed Markets.
  • Strong understanding of rare disease therapeutic areas, market dynamics, customer needs, pharmaceutical industry practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrated business acumen in rare disease selling, customer account management, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate market information into effective business actions.
  • Proven ability to build and lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and peer groups.
  • Adaptable and flexible leadership style, with the ability to manage change and operate effectively in a highly competitive and evolving environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging, influence stakeholders, and inspire diverse teams.
  • Strong commitment to ethical leadership, compliance, accountability, talent development, innovation, and patient-focused business outcomes.
  • Ability to coordinate training and field enablement activities and support ongoing professional development and succession planning.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, compliant driving record, and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50% or more, depending on business needs.
  • Residence within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory is expected.
