Job Description
Graduate and International Admissions Administrative Assistant supports graduate and international admissions by coordinating application processing, reviewing academic credentials, evaluating admissions requirements, assisting students throughout the admissions process, and maintaining accurate records and reports. This position serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students and contributes to enrollment success by providing exceptional customer service, ensuring compliance with university policies, and supporting data-informed admissions operations. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, inclusive, and committed to student success.
- Process graduate and international admissions applications and supporting documentation using Banner, Slate, and other university systems.
- Review transcripts and academic records for completeness, prior enrollment history, GPA calculations, and admissions eligibility.
- Verify English proficiency documentation and international applicant requirements.
- Review financial support documentation submitted by international applicants.
- Perform international transcript evaluations, including accreditation research, grading scale interpretation, GPA calculations, and academic eligibility determinations.
- Collect and route official transcripts for transfer credit evaluation.
- Serve as the primary contact for applicants through phone, email, and in-person communication.
- Generate admissions reports and analyze enrollment data.
- Prepare correspondence regarding admissions requirements, credential evaluations, and application status.
- Research, analyze, and report on admissions and enrollment-related data.
- Assist with policy and procedure development and revision.
- Interpret and communicate university policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience
- Experience using standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office or similar tools)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education admissions, enrollment management, registrar services, student services, or a related field.
- Experience working with graduate students, international students, or diverse student populations.
- Experience reviewing applications, transcripts, academic records, or supporting documentation.
- Experience evaluating educational credentials or transfer coursework.
- Experience with Banner, Slate, or comparable student information systems.
- Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience generating reports, analyzing data, or maintaining databases.
- Experience interpreting policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements.
- Experience providing customer service in a high-volume office environment.
- This position is located on the ATU Russellville campus and operates primarily within a standard office environment.
- Duties require extended periods of computer and telephone use.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support university events.
- The position may occasionally require lifting or transporting materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
