Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mutual Fund/GIC Associate to join our Operations team in Vancouver. Reporting to the Team Lead and/or Operations Manager, this role is for Mutual Funds and GICs across various operational functions including trading, settlements and related administrative .

Mutual Fund / GIC Associate
Key Responsibilities:

Mutual Fund Associate

  • Ensure accurate daily trade and settlement reconciliation
  • Submit wires for any money payable to Fundserv for the Mutual Fund companies
  • Post all mutual fund transactions and balance trading and open item accounts

before market open (6:30am PST)

  • Process all daily commission and trailer fee files for payments received
  • Handle mutual fund orders including investigating and resolving rejections,

corrections, and adjustments before market close (1pm)

  • Process any trade dilutions, PAC/SWD plan cancellations and fund

conversion/exchanges

  • Process and assist IA’s with any requests (ie: address, rep, account updates)
  • Perform monthly reconciliation (financial and non-financial outages) for all

positions reported by Fundserv

GIC Associate

  • Process GIC transactions including purchases, redemptions, maturities, and

internal transfers

  • Submit wires for any money payable to the GIC Issuers for daily purchases and re-

registrations

  • Coordinate daily interest and maturity payments received
  • Process commission payout for any payments received
  • Review daily Cannex confirmation reports and process any required REC/DEL

Receipts and trade tickets for the day

  • Confirm weekly incoming funds summary with reports from GIC Issuers
  • Review and reconcile monthly Cannex and custodial positions

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 years relevant experience in the Canadian securities industry preferred but not

required.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and.
  • Ideally have experience with Fundserv and Dataphile software including the ESG

and GIC modules.

  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and a passion for helping others succeed.
