Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 / year

Staff Accountant Purpose of Position:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of financial statements, G/L account analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, and AP.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform and assist with our day to day operational accounting and monthly and annual close process
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, review journal entries and conduct financial statement analytics
  • Drive continuous improvement and reduce cycle time in the monthly close process through the increased utilization of technology and tools, development of standard operating procedures and other efficiency measures
  • Support preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical analysis
  • Conduct detailed P&L/budget reviews/analyses
  • Collaborate with and support external auditors for annual audit
  • Strengthening the company's internal control environment and control processes.
  • Business partnering with clinical and operations staff to facilitate variance explanations.
  • Record daily cash receipts in GL and prepares monthly bank and investment statement reconciliations.
  • Prepares monthly G/L. journal entries, statistical reports, assists with financial statements, G/L account analysis, other supporting schedules and yearly budgets.
  • Reconciliation between affiliated entities, management fee computation, cost reports, and government reports
  • Prepare payroll journal entries; reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax with GL and W-2's
  • Maintains fixed assets schedules and depreciation, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses and other GL accounts
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing
  • Performs A/P function for selected accounts and may be a back-up for other A/P accounts as required
  • Participates in all audits as requested
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Support payroll and assist as needed in all payroll processes
  • Track donations and grants
  • Scanning AP and GL documents
  • Provide billing and collection support

Qualifications:
    • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or related field
    • 5 plus years Accounting experience
    • Takes initiative and demonstrates intellectual curiosity
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting policy
    • Ownership of accounting operational processes and experience with automation of operational processes
    • Advanced Excel skills required with knowledge of Financial Edge accounting systems a plus but not required
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills, timeline management skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment across multiple geographies
    • Requires strong leadership skills to guide teams and facilitate collaboration
    • Ability to engage peers from across the organization and direct/indirect reports
    • Ability to multi-task in and adapt to an extremely high growth and fluid environment
