Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO Strategist based in Canada.
As an SEO Strategist, you’ll lead high-impact SEO and content strategies for enterprise B2B clients, helping them turn organic visibility into measurable business growth. You’ll combine strategic thinking, data analysis, content expertise, and client consulting to build and optimize campaigns throughout the client lifecycle. The role offers significant ownership, with responsibility for strategy development, goal setting, execution, reporting, and client relationships. You’ll work closely with specialists, writers, designers, project managers, and senior leadership to deliver integrated marketing programs. Your work will be informed by audience and competitor insights, search performance, CRM data, and broader business objectives. This is a fast-moving, remote-first environment suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems and challenging conventional approaches. You’ll also have opportunities to identify account growth opportunities and help clients expand their marketing impact.
- Develop customized SEO and content strategies aligned with client business objectives, historical performance, ongoing campaigns, and broader marketing goals.
- Apply SEO and content best practices across areas including keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, content production, customer generation, Share of SERP, and LTV:CAC modeling.
- Use data from Google Analytics, CRM systems, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other sources to establish measurable client goals and track performance against them.
- Partner with senior leadership to address strategic roadblocks, refine approaches, and ensure campaigns remain aligned with client objectives.
- Develop creative briefs and compelling content campaigns using competitor, audience, and market insights.
- Own project execution by delegating tasks, coordinating contributors, monitoring deadlines, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with writers, designers, SEO specialists, and project managers to deliver campaigns on time and to client expectations.
- Serve as the primary interface between clients and internal teams, building trusted relationships and acting as a strategic consultant rather than simply a delivery contact.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients through regular meetings and shared communication channels, providing updates on timelines, deliverables, progress, and opportunities.
- Communicate internally about account roadblocks, strategic changes, client developments, and potential opportunities for account expansion.
- Lead recurring client reporting, including bi-weekly meetings, monthly and quarterly reports, and bi-annual business reviews.
- Identify opportunities for upsells, cross-sells, expanded service engagements, and client referrals when appropriate.
- Proven track record implementing SEO and content strategies, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience interpreting website traffic, SEO performance, and marketing metrics.
- Hands-on familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and other crawling or SEO platforms.
- Demonstrated agency experience, ideally supporting enterprise B2B technology and/or SaaS clients.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and confidently manage key stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, project management, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to translate data and insights into clear strategic recommendations and actionable plans.
- Genuine enthusiasm for SEO, content, digital marketing, and evolving industry practices.
- Proactive interest in emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and their practical applications in marketing and business operations.
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment while collaborating effectively across distributed teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to recognize opportunities that can contribute to client growth and retention.
- Competitive compensation aligned with a living-wage commitment.
- Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage for employees and eligible dependents.
- Employer-paid health coverage for employees, with an employer contribution toward dependent coverage.
- Access to certified therapists through Spring Health and a Headspace membership.
- Gympass membership to support physical wellbeing.
- Unlimited paid time off, with a two-week minimum, plus paid company holidays.
- Birthday paid time off.
- End-of-year company recharge period from December 24 through January 1.
- Paid parental leave.
- Traditional and Roth 401(k) options with a 3% company match.
- Annual bonus program that increases based on tenure.
- Annual anniversary trip with peers and executive leadership.
- Fully remote work from a home office within Canada.
- Flexible collaboration through remote tools including Zoom and Slack.
- An inclusive, people-first environment focused on meaningful work, professional growth, and measurable impact.
