Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Nursing Tutor is to provide one-on-one or group support to students who are currently enrolled in nursing courses. The tutor's work is informed by best practices and the mission of TASC.
The Professional Nursing Tutor will also be responsible for the following:
- Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic assignments.
- Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing.
- Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
- Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
- Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Attending staff meetings several times each semester.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or a related area required
- Ability to work independently
- Proven ability to work with a faculty, staff, and student population
- 7 hours/wk in-person at the Charlestown campus
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree is preferred.
- 1+ years of tutoring or related experience preferred.
Additional Information:
Salary: $36.55 an hour at 7 hours a week
