Counselor (P/T) - School Lane Charter School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania at Lakeside Educational Network

Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' mental and emotional well-being at School Lane Charter School in Bensalem, PA, helping them to identify and manage issues that may be impacting their educational experience.

This is a 2 day (16 hours) a week position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address mental and emotional challenges.

- Knowledge and implementation of IEPs.

- Actively listen to students and ask insightful questions to help them understand their problems.

- Develop and implement strategies to assist students in improving their overall well-being and academic performance.

- Collaborate with school district staff to monitor student progress and facilitate transitions out of counseling services.

- Work with families to provide support and resources as needed.

- Connect students and families with community resources to enhance support systems.

Skills and Qualifications-

- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.

- Holds or is pursuing a license as a mental health care professional, i.e. LSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.

- Experience in counseling or working with youth in an educational setting is preferred.

- Knowledge of mental health issues and community resources.

- Experience working within a school setting desired.
