Description:

School Counselor

Lakeside Educational Network is dedicated to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for students' mental and emotional health. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program within the North Penn School District. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by providing essential mental health support and guidance. The role is a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) position scheduled to begin in October 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address mental health, emotional challenges, and behavioral issues.

- Actively listen to students, ask insightful questions, and create a safe space for open communication.

- Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies and interventions to support students' overall well-being and academic success.

- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop comprehensive support plans for students.

- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.

- Promote awareness of mental health resources and facilitate referrals to external providers when necessary.

- Participate in school meetings, staff development, and community outreach initiatives related to student wellness.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.

- License preferred (LSW, LCSW, LPC LPCA or LMFT).

- Proven experience in providing mental health counseling to children and adolescents.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.

- Knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and evidence-based intervention strategies.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and the school community.
