About the Role
The NEMT Driver will be responsible for picking up wheelchair patients or stretcher patients using a fully loaded vehicle equipped for wheelchairs or stretchers and a GPS system. This position may work independently or with another teammate based on driving assignments.
What You'll Do
- Independently run medical transportation operations in a company vehicle
- Ensure patients are transported safely from their home to place of service and returned home safely.
- Utilize company transportation software
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
- Assume on-call responsibilities
- Effectively communicate with leadership
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
Qualifications
- Valid State Driver's license required
- 3 years of professional driving experience required
- Clean driving record (No more than 1 point)
- Ability to successfully pass a drug test and health screening which includes alcohol, TB skin test and/or TB chest x-ray
- Ability to pass a physical agility test
- Ability to lift/maneuver 50 pounds
- Fluency in speaking and understanding English, strong communication skills
- Ability to drive to various locations
- Professionalism
- Ability to use apps and electronic devices
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual language ability preferred
- Previous wheelchair transport experience
Final pay rate is determined based on qualifications, experience, and performance, at the employer's discretion.
