Job Description
Revenue Cycle Specialist I
Location: Dayton, OH (Must live in Ohio)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $37,440 – $45,760 per year (based on experience)
Schedule: Flexible options: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Monday to Friday.

Our Financial Department plays a crucial role in sustaining our mission, and we’re seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Specialist who thrives in solving complex billing challenges and has hands-on experience with Medicaid MCOs and claim denials.
Position Overview:
As a Revenue Cycle Specialist I, your primary focus will be resolving Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO) denials, submitting timely appeals, and ensuring accurate billing practices. This position is ideal for a motivated billing professional with a strong understanding of Ohio Medicaid processes and behavioral health billing regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze denied Medicaid MCO claims and identify root causes
Prepare and submit detailed appeals and supporting documentation
Research Ohio Medicaid policies, billing guidelines, and payer rules
Follow up on outstanding claims with no payer response
Track, report, and escalate recurring issues to leadership
Collaborate with the billing team to improve claim workflows
Assist with revenue cycle improvement projects as assigned
What You Bring:
Required: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in behavioral health
Required: Strong experience with Medicaid MCO billing and denial management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Familiarity with EHR/RCM systems (Carelogic, NexGen, or similar preferred)
CPR Certification (Company-sponsored if needed)
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
