Sr Tax Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Tax Analyst based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional to contribute to a dynamic corporate tax function within a growing and mission-driven organization. In this role, you will support a wide range of tax activities, including compliance, financial reporting, tax planning, and strategic business initiatives. Working in a collaborative remote environment, you will partner closely with finance teams, external advisors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance. The position offers exposure to complex tax matters, mergers and acquisitions activities, research and development tax credits, and evolving tax legislation. Ideal candidates are analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong desire to drive continuous improvement and support key business objectives. Accountabilities:
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 and support related financial reporting disclosures.
  • Prepare and support federal, state, and local income tax returns, estimates, extensions, and related compliance filings.
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance activities, including personal property tax, franchise tax, sales tax, and use tax filings.
  • Research, analyze, and respond to inquiries and notices from federal, state, and local tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with payroll and finance teams to ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting obligations.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting guidance, assessing their potential impact on business operations and tax positions.
  • Maintain tax documentation, workpapers, and controls to support compliance with internal governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct technical tax research and prepare memoranda supporting tax positions and business decisions.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions activities through tax diligence, planning, and post-transaction integration efforts.
  • Assist with research and development tax credit studies, analysis, and documentation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support tax planning initiatives and continuous process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Master’s degree in Taxation or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of both.
  • Strong understanding of corporate taxation, tax compliance, and income tax accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing tax provisions and working with ASC 740 requirements.
  • Proficiency with tax research tools and resources, such as CCH or comparable platforms.
  • Familiarity with tax and financial software solutions, including tax compliance, depreciation, and ERP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business productivity applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external advisors.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to continuously learn and expand technical expertise.
