Job Description

Staff Engineer, FE - Account Experience

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Engineer, FE - Account Experience based in Poland.

This is a senior individual contributor role at the forefront of front-end architecture for a complex, data-rich merchant platform used to manage global payments infrastructure. You will define and drive technical direction across multiple teams, shaping how merchants interact with critical account workflows from onboarding to daily operations. The role spans core areas such as setup flows, monitoring systems, workflow orchestration, auditing, and an emerging AI-driven interface layer. You will influence the consistency, performance, and scalability of the entire account experience while remaining deeply hands-on in key technical decisions. Working in a highly collaborative, remote-first environment, you will partner closely with Product, Design, and backend engineering to build a cohesive and intuitive platform experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in systems-level thinking and enjoys setting the bar for front-end excellence across teams.

Accountabilities

You will lead the definition and evolution of front-end architecture across multiple Account Experience teams, ensuring a unified, scalable, and high-performance merchant-facing platform. You will balance strategic technical leadership with hands-on implementation in critical areas.

  • Define and drive front-end technical strategy across multiple product areas, ensuring consistency and long-term scalability
  • Own architecture decisions for a complex web platform, including state management, performance optimization, and system design
  • Build and maintain shared front-end foundations such as component libraries, design systems, and reusable patterns
  • Shape the evolution of merchant-facing experiences, including emerging AI-driven interfaces and conversational workflows
  • Lead and mentor engineers across teams through design reviews, code contributions, and technical guidance without direct authority
  • Champion best practices in accessibility, performance, observability, and front-end reliability
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and backend teams to align on technical and product trade-offs
  • Ensure cohesion across multiple product surfaces to prevent fragmentation of the user experience
Requirements

You bring deep front-end expertise and have operated at a senior or staff level where you have influenced architecture across multiple teams and systems. You are known for strong technical judgment and the ability to elevate engineering standards around you.

  • Demonstrated experience operating at Staff or Principal Engineer level in front-end engineering
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript and React with experience building large-scale, long-lived applications
  • Deep understanding of front-end architecture including state management, performance optimization, and component system design
  • Proven ability to define and scale design systems and reusable front-end patterns across teams
  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to earn trust and influence engineering direction across organizations
  • Comfortable working across the stack and collaborating effectively with backend engineers on API and system design
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in platform, fintech, or payments environments is a plus but not required
Benefits
  • Fully remote, global-first working environment with strong async culture
  • Competitive compensation including equity/share options
  • Unlimited holiday with a minimum guaranteed allowance
  • Private medical insurance and health benefits (varies by location)
  • Learning and development budget to support continuous growth
  • Home office setup allowance and high-quality equipment provided
  • Co-working space access and optional global workations and company retreats
  • Strong emphasis on engineering autonomy, ownership, and high-impact work
