Job duties: This is a high-level administrative support role responsible for assisting the Chief Human Resources Officer, Public Information Director, Communications Director, and communications and HR staff. This position manages tasks and data for the communications team, carries out predefined communications tasks, updates web content, posts on social media sites, manages and responds to internal and external inquiries, manages email distribution lists and sends messages from an email marketing platform, manages and distributes information for judges and staff in the Kansas Judicial Center and district courts statewide, and communicates with and on behalf of judicial branch departments.
Required education and experience: Graduation from high school or equivalency; supplemented by at least two years of general clerical work experience, preferably in a court office or law office. Experience in word processing, or court clerical experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education or experience which provides the following skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills with Word, Excel, Access, Adobe DC Pro, and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain various databases.
- Ability to help produce web-based materials, forms, procedures, and other necessary documents related to the overall administration of the judicial branch.
- Ability to monitor various email accounts to ensure timely, professional, and thorough responses to public and branch staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to balance day-to-day responsibilities while managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and maintain an effective and harmonious working relationship with officials, employees, and the public.
- The ability to monitor calendars to keep projects on track to meet milestones and deadlines and communicate progress to relevant audiences.
- Ability to operate a multiline phone system and perform general receptionist duties.
