About the Role:

The ROC Operator I plays a critical role in monitoring and controlling remote operations centers to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of industrial or utility systems. This position involves continuous observation of system parameters, responding promptly to alarms or irregularities, and coordinating with field personnel to resolve operational issues. The operator will be responsible for maintaining detailed logs and reports to support operational transparency and compliance with regulatory standards. Through vigilant system oversight and proactive problem-solving, the ROC Operator I helps prevent downtime and mitigates risks associated with system failures. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's mission by ensuring uninterrupted service delivery and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and industrial operations.
  • Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with team members and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in industrial technology, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with SCADA systems or other remote monitoring software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to the industry.
  • Previous experience in a control room or operations environment.
  • Familiarity with emergency response protocols and incident management.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor control systems and equipment through SCADA or other remote monitoring technologies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, system alerts, and operational anomalies by following established protocols and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Coordinate with field technicians, maintenance teams, and management to troubleshoot and resolve operational problems.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of system status, incidents, and corrective actions taken during each shift.
  • Perform routine system checks and assist in the implementation of operational procedures and safety standards.

Skills:

The ROC Operator I utilizes technical skills daily to monitor and interpret data from control systems, ensuring operational parameters remain within safe limits. Strong analytical skills enable the operator to quickly identify and diagnose system irregularities, facilitating timely interventions.
