Maintenance Technician
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Hourly Rate: $20 - $22 per hour
Every other week on-call rotation
Travels between all ICF group home locations

About the Role
For over 70 years, New Avenues for Independence has provided nonprofit care for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities across Northeast Ohio. Our group homes are the permanent homes of the people we serve. The Maintenance Technician keeps those homes safe, functional, and comfortable — for residents and staff alike.
You’ll travel between our ICF group home locations in a company vehicle, manage service requests across multiple sites, and work independently to prioritize and complete a varied daily workload.
Responsibilities
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across all ICF group home locations
• Take and prioritize service orders, keeping house staff informed of status
• Complete minor to moderate plumbing repairs, including fixture replacement and installation
• Repair and replace light fixtures and perform minor electrical work
• Diagnose and repair household appliances; coordinate replacement when needed
• Carpentry work: door hardware, hinges, window repair and replacement, shelving installation
• Prepare vacated rooms for new occupancy — patching, painting, and general readiness
• Miscellaneous lock repairs and hardware maintenance
• Interact professionally and respectfully with residents and house staff on every visit
Requirements:Requirements
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with fewer than 5 points
• Valid auto insurance
• Ability to pass a background check
Qualifications
• 1–2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a multi-site or residential setting
• Working knowledge of household plumbing, light electrical, and appliance repair
• Comfortable operating standard hand and power tools (drill, circular saw, plumbing hand tools, screwdrivers)
• Able to work independently, manage a service queue, and communicate clearly with non-technical staff
• Able to lift 50 lbs or more
