Job Description

Description:

The Process Engineer supports production, maintains equipment in working order and incorporates continuous improvement activities.

Engineering

· Work with suppliers to create mechanical design of new equipment and upgrades for furnaces, heating systems, and any support/ancillary equipment.

· Training maintenance personnel in mechanical and control systems and the maintenance management software.

· Provide maintenance support for mechanical and electrical issues and troubleshooting on all equipment.

· Assist quality control with process FMEA and control plans.

· Provide project management for new equipment installation, equipment upgrades, repairs and modifications.

· Responsible for scheduling and completing thermal uniformity surveys and system accuracy testing with the assistance of the maintenance technicians. Quality control will create the reports, read the results, and certify the testing.

· Troubleshooting and continuous improvement of PLC systems, HMI’s, robotic and automation systems.

Planning

· Communicate daily schedule of maintenance activities.

· Maintain long term down day schedule.

· Assist in the preparation of annual expenses and CAPEX budgets.

· Create and schedule purchases associated with projects / daily production.

· Assist in the development of CAPEX plans for continuous improvement activities and new equipment installation.

Continual Improvement

· Utilize failure analysis / corrective actions on production downtime, safety concerns, etc.

· Analyze month end metrics.

· Develop annual improvement plans on established metrics to improve cost, productivity, and sustainability.

· Ensure that Aalberts is keeping up with the latest technology in furnace controls and components.

Maintenance Systems

· Manage assignment of workload distribution.

· Maintain preventive maintenance system.

· Develop predictive maintenance metrics.

· Maintain spare parts inventory.

· Report on maintenance KPI’s for the BRMs.

EHS

· Environmental Management System leader for the plant. Responsible to follow the EMS and ensure the environmental compliance calendar is up to date.

· Provide plant leadership in enforcing policies and procedures.

· Serve on Safety committee.

· Perform scheduled internal clean and safe audits.

· Address daily concerns.

· Participate in external environmental audits and assessments.

· Review new equipment purchases for proper safety and ergonomic setups.

· Review workstations to make suggested changes to improve ergonomics and/or other health and safety concerns.

· Maintain SDS system.

Performance Metrics:

· Equipment downtime %

· PM Completion %

· Maintenance expenses as a % of sales

· On time project completion

· Energy reporting as a % of lbs. ran by equipment.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS / ABILITIES:

· Have a clear understanding of job specific safety, environment, quality, and departmental procedures.

· Strong understanding of estimating and controlling project costs

· Through adherence to company policies and procedures, delegation and motivation of personnel, maintain high quality standards and achieve maintenance goals to maximize profit and return on investment.

· Manage outside contractors and maintenance personnel on project installation.

· Must be able to use a computer with the following programs – Word, Excel, Power Point, AutoCAD DraftSight, and SolidWorks.

· The incumbent must have the ability to use higher mathematics involving electrical/mechanical principles.

Understanding of quality systems; AMS9100, NADCAP, AMS2750

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred (associate degree minimum) in either Mechanical Engineering or Technology

· Willing and able to travel, approximate 25%.

· 2D and 3D CAD experience

· PLC, HMI, robotic programming and troubleshooting.

· SolidWorks training preferred.

· Microsoft Office experience

· Must maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record in accordance with their position.

· Must sign a non-compete agreement.

· Project Management experience preferred.

EHS experience preferred.
