Job Description
Position Title: Graphic Services Preflight Coordinator
Location: WHITE BLUFF, TN 37187
Job Shift: 1st Shift
Description:
Job Summary: Review customer supplied art and provide detailed written information to customer service, sales, graphics, and production.
Responsibilities:
Main Graphics contact for Manager/Supervisor of designated accounts. Attend new projects meetings on behalf of the Graphics department and assist in engineering of new wide web flexible and label projects. Provide needed technical and status information at account project scheduling meetings so that Graphics, Production, and Plant Manager can make informed resource-scheduling decisions, and track and log the Graphic’s work orders into preflight, approved or revised status. Initial preflight of supplied materials ensuring that all graphic files including composite, high resolution linked images and fonts are included. Review files for color break and adherence to general production specifications. Ensure prepress files are accurate, optimized, and ready for production, meeting customer specifications. Work with design, print, and production teams to ensure artwork meets quality and technical requirements Work with preflight, CSR’s, sales, customers and prep-houses to answer graphics related technical questions via conference call, face-to-face or written interactions. Provide project specific customer supplied samples, color targets, to QA and pressroom supervisors as needed. Assist manager and supervisor to maintain graphics production schedule. Fill-in or assist proofreader as needed. Maintain consistent communications of project details and client records with graphics, customer service, and production. Responsible for compliance with all regulatory, facility food safety, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs) policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Skills:
Beginner-level proficiency with ESKO software and workflows preferred.
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe CC) software required.
Basic knowledge of prepress processes, packaging, and print production
Basic knowledge of color management, PDF/AI file formats, and proofing techniques
Must have good client relations both external and internal customers.
Possess strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
At least 5 years Flexo job engineering experience preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), having visitors use the front office door and sign-in and sign-out, by escorting visitors and making sure they follow GMPs, and being aware of surroundings and reporting suspicious activity that could lead to Food Defense and Food Safety related concerns.
Must have reading skills necessary to properly understand orders, material labels, reports warning signs, etc.
Must be able to distinguish subtle shades of color accurately in order to match samples and color designations on orders and design concepts.
Must be able to lift 25 – 60 lbs.
Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed instructions without constant supervision.
Must be able to communicate operating problems to supervisor.
Must be able to logically deduce (reason) the source of problem in a design which prevents commercially acceptable printing, propose a solution to that problem and carry out that solution, i.e. ability to evaluate, assess and make decisions.
Must have eyesight whether corrected or not, which allows individual to distinguish hairlines, registration and color accuracy.
Must have maturity and disposition to operate and execute safety at all times.
Must understand and be able to implement safety emergency procedures.
Must have physical strength to stand for lengthy periods of time.
Must be able to interact with and follow instructions from quality control and/or management to maintain specified quality standards.
Must possess typing skills and postscript computer skills.
Must be able to work with personnel both in the department and outside the department (sales, production, etc.) under high-pressure situations.
Must be able to work under stress of tight deadlines.
