Job Description

    Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and timely corrective repairs on production machinery, tooling, utilities, transportation equipment, and facility systems to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.Inspect, test, adjust, and conduct periodic quality checks on equipment, buildings, and systems to identify issues and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and general facility issues using appropriate tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.Repair faulty equipment, tooling, and damaged structures, including extruders, rewinders, conveyors, heating and plumbing systems, and other production or facility assets.Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to production.Make equipment adjustments required to maintain product quality, machine performance, and operational efficiency.Ensure equipment, tools, guards, and facilities comply with OSHA, EHS, CNESST, lockout/tagout, company, and other applicable safety requirements.Identify, correct, and promptly report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, and potential safety risks.Inspect equipment before and after maintenance interventions to confirm it is safe and ready for operation.Participate in safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and other workplace safety initiatives.Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records in logs or the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Maintain inventory records for equipment, spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies, and assist with ordering as needed.Keep tools, parts, the maintenance shop, and plant work areas clean, organized, and in good working condition.Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, modification, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.Investigate recurring breakdowns, identify root causes, and recommend technical or process improvements that enhance equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.Collaborate with Production, Quality, operators, supervisors, and other team members to plan maintenance activities and optimize maintenance processes.Communicate equipment status, repair requirements, and expected timelines clearly to affected stakeholders.Provide technical support and assist with training operators on the safe and proper use of equipment.Perform general facility maintenance as needed, including painting, carpentry, landscaping, and similar building upkeep tasks.Support maintenance planning and budgeting activities, including helping develop and implement the maintenance department budget.
