ConexED is a rapidly growing higher education technology company transforming how institutions enroll, support, engage, and retain students. Our platform powers advising, student services, and institutional workflows at colleges and universities nationwide.
We are entering a major growth phase, coming off two recent statewide RFP wins, expanding our institutional footprint, and investing heavily in building the next category-defining company in higher education.
ConexED is led by a CEO who is a former CRO and proven growth leader, having helped take three companies to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies list, with ConexED positioned to be the fourth. This is an opportunity to join a leadership team with a demonstrated track record of building, scaling, and winning.
Role OverviewThe Director of Marketing will own the full marketing function and build the engine that fuels ConexED's next phase of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role for a marketer who can set strategy and execute against it, turning pipeline targets, brand positioning, and market category leadership into repeatable systems.
You will own demand generation, brand, content, product marketing, and field/event marketing, working in close partnership with Sales and RevOps to drive qualified pipeline and accelerate deal velocity. You will be the voice of ConexED in the market and the architect of how we win against the competition.
This is not a brand-only or campaign-execution role. We are looking for a strategic operator who wants to shape go-to-market strategy, influence product direction, and grow into a senior marketing leader as the company scales.
We expect this person to be AI-native. ConexED treats AI as core leverage, not a side experiment, and the Director of Marketing will use tools like Claude across content, research, campaign production, and analysis to operate with the output of a much larger team.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the marketing strategy and annual plan tied directly to pipeline, ARR growth, and net revenue retention goals
Build and run a demand generation engine across paid, organic, ABM, and outbound-supporting channels
Partner with Sales and RevOps to define pipeline targets, source qualified opportunities, and improve conversion across the funnel
Work with the CEO and CRO to develop positioning and messaging that differentiates ConexED in a competitive market
Lead product marketing, including launches, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, and buyer-persona messaging for Student Success leaders, CIOs, and Enrollment and Recruiting leaders
Build and execute a content strategy that establishes ConexED as a category authority in higher education
Use AI tools like Claude to multiply output and speed across content creation, market and competitive research, campaign production, persona messaging, and reporting, and build repeatable AI-assisted workflows the whole team can use
Own the marketing technology stack and reporting, with HubSpot as the system of record, in partnership with RevOps
Plan and run field marketing and conference strategy at regional and national higher education events
Support statewide RFP and system-level pursuits with positioning, proof points, and tailored content
Build and track marketing metrics that map to enterprise value: pipeline created, CAC, marketing-sourced and influenced revenue, and funnel efficiency
Hire, develop, and lead the marketing team as the function scales
Required Qualifications3-5+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, with progressive ownership of demand generation and pipeline
Proven track record of building marketing functions that drive measurable revenue, not just activity
Deep experience with HubSpot or comparable marketing automation and CRM platforms
Strong command of demand gen, ABM, content, and product marketing fundamentals
Experience partnering directly with Sales and RevOps to hit shared pipeline and revenue targets
Sharp analytical skills and fluency in SaaS marketing metrics and attribution
Excellent writing and messaging instincts, with the ability to translate a complex platform into clear value
Hands-on fluency with AI tools such as Claude, and a demonstrated habit of using them to work faster and produce more
Preferred / Bonus QualificationsExperience marketing into higher education or the public sector
Familiarity with higher education buying processes, funding models, and RFP-driven procurement
Experience building marketing in a high-growth or bootstrapped SaaS company
Background in product marketing and competitive positioning against established players
Experience supporting a company through a growth, fundraising, or exit process
Interest in building and leading a team
