Job Description

At River Rock Casino Resort, one of British Columbia’s most iconic entertainment destinations, every guest interaction is an opportunity to create something memorable. Located in the heart of Richmond—just minutes from Vancouver International Airport, a short drive from downtown Vancouver, and directly connected to its own on‑site SkyTrain station (Bridgeport Station)—River Rock blends the energy of a world‑class casino with the comfort and sophistication of a full‑service waterfront resort.

As part of a team of over 950 dedicated employees, you’ll join a vibrant, guest‑focused community where hospitality, entertainment, and service excellence come together.

Under the direct supervision of the Shift Manager, Cage, Slots & Guest Services or the Supervisor, Count Team, this role is part of the behind‑the‑scenes engine that keeps River Rock Casino Resort running with precision. As a member of the Count Team, you’ll support accurate counting, verification, and secure movement of cash assets from the gaming floor — work that directly upholds the integrity of our financial controls and the trust our guests place in us every day. With a focus on consistency, teamwork, and operational excellence, this position helps foster a safe, welcoming, and growth‑oriented environment where every team member can thrive.

Key Accountabilities

  • Cash Counting & Verification — Accurately counts bills, coins, and cash equivalents with consistency and precision.
  • Secure Asset Handling — Organizes and secures count carts, drop boxes, drop buckets, and bill cartridges for scheduled count pulls.
  • Compliance & Reporting — Identifies and reports suspect cash or cash equivalents in accordance with regulatory and internal controls.
  • Reconciliation — Verifies and reconciles all values before and after counts to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Packaging & Transport — Bags, bundles, secures, and transports counts following established procedures and security protocols.
  • Operational Documentation — Provides accurate information for reporting and record‑keeping purposes.
  • Cross‑Department Communication — Communicates effectively with Cage, Slots, Security, and other operational departments to support smooth count operations.
  • Relationship Building — Builds strong working relationships with internal partners to maintain a collaborative, high‑trust environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance — Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, and all statutory regulations.
  • Additional Duties — Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

  • Early Morning Availability — Must be available to start work at 4:00am.
  • Cash Handling Experience — Minimum 1 year of experience in high‑volume cash handling and counting.
  • Gaming License — Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming worker License

Work Environment Considerations

Standing for long periods of time; lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, and bending; interruptions; and non‑traditional work hours, including early‑morning shifts aligned with count operations.

Eligible employees receive a competitive benefits package after completing probation and meeting the required hours threshold, including:

  • Extended health and dental coverage
  • Company pension plan with matching contributions
  • Employee and family assistance programs
  • Paid time off
