Under the direct supervision of the Shift Manager, Cage, Slots & Guest Services or the Supervisor, Count Team, this role is part of the behind‑the‑scenes engine that keeps River Rock Casino Resort running with precision. As a member of the Count Team, you’ll support accurate counting, verification, and secure movement of cash assets from the gaming floor — work that directly upholds the integrity of our financial controls and the trust our guests place in us every day. With a focus on consistency, teamwork, and operational excellence, this position helps foster a safe, welcoming, and growth‑oriented environment where every team member can thrive.
Key Accountabilities
- Cash Counting & Verification — Accurately counts bills, coins, and cash equivalents with consistency and precision.
- Secure Asset Handling — Organizes and secures count carts, drop boxes, drop buckets, and bill cartridges for scheduled count pulls.
- Compliance & Reporting — Identifies and reports suspect cash or cash equivalents in accordance with regulatory and internal controls.
- Reconciliation — Verifies and reconciles all values before and after counts to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
- Packaging & Transport — Bags, bundles, secures, and transports counts following established procedures and security protocols.
- Operational Documentation — Provides accurate information for reporting and record‑keeping purposes.
- Cross‑Department Communication — Communicates effectively with Cage, Slots, Security, and other operational departments to support smooth count operations.
- Relationship Building — Builds strong working relationships with internal partners to maintain a collaborative, high‑trust environment.
- Regulatory Compliance — Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, and all statutory regulations.
- Additional Duties — Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Qualifications
- Early Morning Availability — Must be available to start work at 4:00am.
- Cash Handling Experience — Minimum 1 year of experience in high‑volume cash handling and counting.
- Gaming License — Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming worker License
Work Environment Considerations
Standing for long periods of time; lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, and bending; interruptions; and non‑traditional work hours, including early‑morning shifts aligned with count operations.
