Position Overview:

The Sr. Director of Automotive Channel Sales is responsible for leading the company’s revenue growth strategy while ensuring exceptional customer experience across all distribution channels. This executive will oversee the sales organization and customer service operations, aligning both functions to drive market expansion, customer retention & satisfaction, and operational excellence. The Sr. Director of Automotive Channel Sales will work closely with executive leadership to develop strategic initiatives that improve profitability, strengthen customer relationships, and enhance overall service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of all aftermarket sales strategies ensuring short and long- term company revenue and profitability goals are met.
  • Assist in the development of strategic sales plans and budgets to achieve company revenue, growth and profit targets.
  • Ensure that the personnel necessary for implementing Aftermarket Automotive Sales strategies are in place, trained, and capable of executing to plan.
  • Ability to resolve high-level customer issues and maintain strong relationships with key accounts throughout their organizations.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and develop Strategic Account Managers in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Work closely with the President and COO in reviewing sales and marketing strategies, the development of new customer markets/channels, or other business areas requiring senior executive attention. This includes keeping a close eye on customer directions and industry trends to advise when changes in strategy are required.
  • Ensure alignment of Aftermarket sales organization’s strategic objectives with that of the overall business strategy, through active participation in corporate strategy development, resource planning, and overall budgetary and forecast building processes.
  • Provide Executive Leadership with regular check points and update meetings ensuring that other functional areas are aware of progress, and impediments being faced.
  • Accountable for building an effective aftermarket sales organization, including specific role functions, sales channel coverage, and deployment, while staying within the budgetary constraints of the organization.
  • Leads all required aftermarket sales change initiatives by continuously assessing the needs of our customers within the various sales channels and championing internal change by removing obstacles impeding constructive growth.
  • Track KPIs and assure sales analysis to find trends, make quick and timely adjustments to avoid lost sales and profitable sales growth. With reporting mechanisms in place keeping leadership team up to date with situation.
  • Oversee the customer service department including order management, customer support, and account service. Continue to improve systems and processes within Customer Service that improve responsiveness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance attitude, and above all ethical behavior
  • Coordinate with product management and the marketing teams, to assure appropriate actions and tactics are taken to support DMA’s customers and sales growth strategies.
  • Establishes and maintains productive peer-to-peer senior relationships with top key customers and prospects within assigned sales channels.
  • Achieve assigned organizational objectives for sales, profits, volume, product mix, and other strategic goals.
  • Support the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas within DMA.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Sales, Marketing or related field of study.
  • Master’s in Business Administration or equivalent a plus.
  • Minimum fifteen years of sales management experience with ten or more years' experience leading sales in the Automotive Aftermarket industry.
  • Must have very strong analytical skills including the use of technology tools and software such as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging at all organizational levels both internally and externally.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Logic-based problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a “Whatever it takes” attitude to achieve the desired results while upholding the company’s highest integrity standards.
  • Ability to see beyond the customer’s words to gain an understanding of the customer’s true meaning or intent.
  • MUST HAVE THE DRIVE AND DESIRE TO CLOSE!

  • Incumbent work hours/schedule and/or shift are subject to change based on business needs and Management discretion
