Ophthalmic Technician – Full-Time or Part-Time
Locations: Fort Myers, Naples, and Punta Gorda: **Candidates MUST being willing & able to travel and work in all our offices**
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time
Do you have an eye for detail, a heart for patient care, and experience as an Ophthalmic Technician? Collins Vision is looking for a skilled, dependable technician who enjoys variety, works well with a team, and is comfortable supporting our offices throughout Southwest Florida.

A Look at the Role
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will help create a smooth and positive experience for our patients from the moment their clinical visit begins. You will obtain accurate patient histories, perform comprehensive workups and diagnostic testing, document findings in the patient’s medical record, and prepare patients for their visit with the provider.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming patients and explaining the purpose of testing and procedures
- Obtaining and documenting chief complaints, medical and ocular histories, medications, and allergies
- Performing accurate and efficient patient workups
- Measuring visual acuity, pupils, motility, confrontation fields, color vision, and stereopsis
- Performing tonometry, refraction, pachymetry, corneal topography, and other physician-directed testing
- Documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
- Supporting providers and fellow team members throughout the clinic
- Traveling between Collins Vision locations as operational needs require
- Helping us deliver compassionate, efficient, and exceptional patient care
What Will Help You Succeed
- At least one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician (required)
- COA or COT certification is a plus (preferred)
- Experience with ophthalmic testing equipment and comprehensive workups (required)
- Experience using an electronic medical record system; Modernizing Medicine or EMA experience is a plus
- Scribing experience is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- A compassionate, patient-focused approach
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work at our Fort Myers, Naples, and Punta Gorda offices (required)
