Our structured, three-tier program is designed to help nursing students gain confidence, hands-on experience, and a clear path to career growth—with pay increases at each tier.

Tier 1 – Nurse Extern I
Start building your foundation with essential skills like vital signs, patient assessments, glucose checks, and more. Enjoy a 6-week rotation through core hospital departments for a well-rounded experience.

Tier 2 – Nurse Extern II
Advance your skills in specialty areas such as Emergency Department, ICU, OR, Labor & Delivery, Cath Lab, Wound Healing Center, and more.

Tier 3 – Nurse Extern III
In your final semester, work one-on-one with a nurse preceptor in the department of your choice—perfect preparation for your transition into practice.

Requirements:

• BLS, or completed within Orientation period
• Currently enrolled, completed and passed the semester of a ASN or BSN accredited Nursing Program.
• Non-violent Crisis Training for specified units within orientation period.
• Nurse Extern position is valid until employee passes state licensure exam. This is limited to six months and two attempts. The nurse externs is also eligible upon graduation to apply for the Nurse Residency Program.
