Railroad Car Repair Field Supervisor

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $64,000/year — higher salary available depending on experience

Position Summary

We are hiring a Railroad Field Supervisor to oversee crews performing railcar repairs, derailment recovery, load adjustment and transfer, and track maintenance or construction.

This position combines field leadership with hands-on operations. The Supervisor will coordinate crews, monitor job-site safety, oversee equipment use, communicate with customers and regulatory personnel, and ensure work is completed properly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Direct daily assignments and activities for field crews.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce required PPE, FRA, DOT, and company safety procedures.
  • Oversee field projects and participate in hands-on work and equipment operation when needed.
  • Monitor work quality, productivity, and overall project progress.
  • Communicate with railroad customers and regulatory agencies throughout assignments.
  • Complete payroll, equipment usage, and project reports accurately.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees.
  • Prepare project estimates and job quotes covering labor, equipment, and logistics.
  • Inspect equipment and help ensure machinery is maintained and ready for use.
  • Support derailment response, railcar repair, load adjustment/transfer, and track maintenance and construction activities.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of railroad industry experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and railroad safety requirements.
  • Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
  • Valid driver's license; Class A or B CDL preferred.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, including cranes and excavators.
  • Ability to read and understand load charts and rigging practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on field environment.
Work Requirements
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent travel and overnight assignments.
  • Physically demanding work, including lifting and walking over uneven terrain.
  • Extended work hours may be required based on project and emergency response needs.
