Job Description: Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Technician Position Summary We are seeking a Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for safely providing high-level maintenance support to our fast-paced, continuous-process manufacturing plant. To achieve critical machine uptime metrics, this role requires both excellent mechanical expertise (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, and lubrication) and robust electrical/electronic knowledge (PLCs, A/C and D/C motors, drives, and schematics). The ideal candidate works positively within teams to troubleshoot and solve complex problems, remains actively engaged in preventative maintenance processes, and is committed to continuous technical development. Schedule and Shift Information • Employment Type: Hourly, Full-Time • Available Shifts: 2nd or 3rd Shift (Monday – Friday); 2nd Shift (Sunday – Thursday); 3rd Shift (Sunday – Thursday) • Shift Hours: 2nd Shift: 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm | 3rd Shift: 9:00 pm to 5:00 am • Training: Extensive training will occur on 1st shift before transitioning to your assigned alternative shift. • Overtime: Overtime is typical and usually scheduled for 4 hours before or after your standard shift. • Flexibility: Candidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends, and overtime as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ("What you will be doing") • Electro-Mechanical Installations & Repairs: Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other repairs and installations as needed. Install and repair all electrical devices within the plant. • Breakdown & Emergency Response: Perform emergency breakdown repairs on all production equipment, plant utilities, and building/grounds. • Preventative & Predictive Maintenance: Adhere strictly to preventative and predictive maintenance schedules. Activities include lubricating equipment, measuring wear, measuring position, repositioning components, and closely observing operations. • Automation Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems utilizing PLCs, A/C and D/C motors, and electrical drives. • Technical Documentation: Read, interpret, and work accurately from mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and instructional guides. • Systems & Maintenance Records: Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records, parts requisitions, work orders, time sheets, and other associated paperwork in the computer system. • Teamwork & Development: Work with high cooperation, positive team dynamics, and excellent problem-solving skills. Maintain a willingness to fully cross-train in other technical areas to enhance overall capabilities. • Autonomy: Work well independently and without supervision when needed, ensuring tasks are performed exactly per instructions. Safety Policies and Practices • Food Safety Compliance: Follow all plant rules, processes, and hygiene procedures related to the production of Safe Quality Foods (SQF Guidelines). • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear safety glasses and steel-toe shoes at all times while in the manufacturing area. Utilize sound protection in designated high-noise areas. • Housekeeping Standards: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Responsibilities include removing scrap, sweeping, maintaining clear walkways, and cleaning up work areas as an integral part of completing assigned tasks. • Safe Operations: Consistently demonstrate and uphold safe work practices at all times. Must-Have Qualifications & Skills • Education & Experience: A Technical degree in an Electrical or Mechanical trade OR 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting industrial electro-mechanical equipment. • Software Proficiency: Direct experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). • Language: Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently. • Technical Knowledge: A strong working knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical fundamentals. Physical Requirements • Postures & Movement: Sit or stand for extended periods depending on changing job assignments. Perform awkward and/or repetitive movements. • Functional Mobility: Push, pull, climb, reach, stretch, and work comfortably in tight or confined positions. • Heavy Lifting: Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs. • Machinery Operation: Physical capability and coordination to remove and replace heavy components from machinery. • Equipment & Tools: Physical coordination to operate a forklift (to move extremely heavy parts) and a working knowledge to safely operate machine tools (drill presses, welders, grinders) used to make and repair parts. • Visual Acuity: Strong visual acuity at a short distance to examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. • Digital Literacy: Reading computer screens or other electronic data entry devices. Working Conditions • Environment: Exposure to seasonal extremes of heat (100°F+) and humidity. • Physical Space: Frequently working in tight, cramped areas. • Hazards: Exposed to high noise levels from production machinery and routine handling of various oils, solvents, and other related chemicals.
